Today we’d like to introduce you to Jun Wang.

Jun, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My father was a businessman when I was growing up, so I always wanted to become a successful businesswoman. I earned two bachelor’s degrees, including one focused on business analytics. I found myself fascinated with data analysis, so I got my start in the auto industry and then worked my way up to an e-commerce director. I analyzed all kinds of data which I used to develop sales strategies.

When I moved to Houston, I noticed there were a lot of small businesses with excellent products but can’t quite thrive and grow because of major competitors. I understand there is a family behind every small business. And those families are the ones who make our community better.

So I decided to quit my job in the auto industry to help small businesses with their digital marketing strategies, taking into account their budgets and other criterion.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I can say the road in this business hasn’t always been as smooth as I thought it would be. As an entrepreneur, I had to wear different hats for my business when I started. In addition to navigating business realities, as an immigrant, I had to absorb cultural differences and different business etiquette.

JSBC Marketing – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
JSBC Marketing is a full-service digital marketing agency. We focus on helping small businesses to grow their online revenue and leads from the internet by designing a 360-degree strategy with different phases in order to help them grow long term in their industry.

We specialize in Website Design, SEO ( Search Engine Optimization), Social Media Management, Social Media Marketing and Ads, Pay Per Click Ads and Data Analytics.

What I am most proud of is transparency. My customers have full access to their platform and full control of their data. I present them an analytics report for each service provided, and they can access it any time they want. On average, our clients’ website traffic increases by 50% in the first month.

JSBC’s website design service is not like others. We first sit down with our clients and build a portfolio of their business. We then do research on their target audience, and consumer behavior then designs a website according to their target audience’s shopping and searching behavior.

What sets us apart from others is we don’t charge consultation fees. We also use massive data to show clients how and why we design a particular strategy. We also show them the results of our strategies. We are an all-in-one marketing agency.

 What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
When I was in the first grade, everyone told me that I am a girl and therefore don’t have to try as hard as a boy. I refused to go with that. I wrote an article titled “Why can’t a girl compete with a boy?” and sent it to the most popular newspaper in Shanghai, China, where I was born and raised.

The newspaper published my article and sent me a check. My teacher and my father found out, but I refused to admit that was me who wrote that article out of fear of getting in trouble. In the end, I had to admit I wrote it.

The favorite part of that experience is not the fact that my article got published in a popular newspaper, but that there were probably many other little girls like me who heard my voice.
